Alton Towers will again be celebrating Halloween in 2024.
Visit the theme park on the 11th October – 3rd November for hair-raising antics and spooktacular surprises!
The park is open each day from 10am - 9pm throughout the event - giving you a whole 11 hours of scares. When night falls, it's an incredible opportunity to ride the most famous rides at Alton Towers in the dark, including Wicker Man.

Sky Ride
Up in the clouds, float hundreds of feet up in gondolas all the colours of the rainbow. Find your jaw dropping to the floor at the sights over Alton Towers and beyond.
Looking to see the sprawling gardens at Alton Towers without having to walk? Hop aboard the Sky Ride and witness the famous flower beds and foliage in all their glory from above.
Oblivion
The world's first vertical drop rollercoaster, a short but powerful ride delivering a unique experience, one of the highlight's at Alton Towers. At the top of the lift hill you perch on the edge of a huge tunnel deep into the ground, you wait for a few seconds as you hear Don't...Look...Down... and then you plunge into Oblivion at extreme speed! (Minimum Height: 1.4m)
The Smiler
Not only does The Smiler have a jaw dropping world's first 14 inversions and plunging 30 metre drops, the ride also features a vertical lift hill as well as the standard lift hill plus there are a series of manipulating effects that will mess with your body and mind! The Marmaliser's parts: The Inoculator, The Tickler, The Flasher, The Giggler, The Hypnotiser. (Minimum Height: 1.4m)
Hex
Introducing the legend of the Towers, generations in the making, Hex takes its theme from the chilling tale of a local family's fate, bound within the chains of a mysterious giant oak tree. A disorientating mix of ride, cinema and spectacular lighting effects, exposing you to the forces of a dark legend that will leave you spellbound. (Minimum Height: 0.9m)
Sharkbait Reef
Explore this hidden capsule of underwater fun located in the pirate-themed Mutiny Bay and come face to face with creatures from the deepest depths of the world’s seas and oceans. This SEA LIFE attraction features 300 species of fish, 100 million litres of water and a 10 metre walk-through tunnel.
Battle Galleons
The centrepiece of Alton Towers' pirate-themed land, Mutiny Bay, is this spectacular interactive 'splash battle' water attraction called Battle Galleons where swashbucklers are assured of a super soaking! Prepare to jump aboard a mighty galleon and take part in a fun-filled battle for all ages, shiver your timbers! (Minimum Height: 0.9m)
Congo River Rapids
One of the best rides in the park for a whole lot of family fun, jump aboard your very own raft and prepare to get pretty soaked! As you ride through Katanga Canyon you'll face lots of drops, speedy downhill rapids and plenty of waterfalls. You wont want to miss this, especially if your not so keen on the big thrill rides. (Minimum Height: 0.9m)
Runaway Mine Train
Ride through the African mine of Katanga Canyon on this fun family roller coaster, winding through tunnels and trees, and close to the waters of Congo River Rapids. Take the opportunity to take in the scenery on your first lap as on the second the train rattles around much faster, making the sharp turns and twists even more thrilling! (Minimum Height: 0.9m)
The Blade
Experience zero gravity on The Blade and sit at the back if you are really brave! A classic swinging ship ride located in the eerie Forbidden Valley at Alton Towers alongside Nemesis, Nemesis Sub-Terra, Ripsaw and Air. (Minimum Height: 1m)
