News from UK Theme Parks

Inspired by the works of Roald Dahl, one of the world’s most loved and cherished authors, Dahland is the new themed area at Oakwood Theme Park in 2017. The area begins with the story of James and the Giant Peach but will grow in future years.

The centrepiece of Dahland is Flight of the Giant Peach, a Pinfari roller coaster that is over 1,000ft long, 36ft high and reaches speeds of 28mph. The ride previously operated at M&D's - Scotland's Theme Park as Cobra, Express and finally Space Coaster. Joining the roller coaster will be a walk-through attraction, trampolines and a performance area.

Dreamland Margate will reopen on 26th May 2017 following a £15 million revamp including new rides, landscaped gardens, art installations, street food, a 15,000-capacity live music venue and much more.

The UK’s original seaside amusement park will unveil a completely updated and re-landscaped space that brings together historic rides set against a backdrop of new art installations, street food and a programme of live events.

From a Waltzer to the Scenic Railway, the legendary 1920s Grade II listed wooden roller coaster, Dreamland’s vintage rides have been taken back to their original glory. Working with the best in the business, including Joby Carter of the famous Carter’s Steam Fair family, each piece has been painstakingly restored to create an authentic seaside experience.

Flambards near Helston in Cornwall will open a spectacular new thrill ride in 2017, with Sky Force coming to the theme park in time for the Summer.

The first new attraction Jumpin' Jacks is a huge bouncy pillow for all the family to enjoy as they clamber, leap and bounce upon this giant inflatable, measuring 46ft long by 33ft wide. Then, Flying Nellies is an exciting new ride for younger visitors taking them into the air on a magical elephant, while the Mini Diggers offer kids all the fun of playing with sand without getting their hands dirty.
