The popular log flume had been closed since the end of the 2015 season, standing but not operating (SBNO) between 2016 - 2018.

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the time has come to say goodbye to a much loved ride here at Thorpe Park Resort and what was the UK’s tallest log flume, Logger’s Leap.

The family-friendly water ride first opened in 1989 and had entertained millions of adults and children alike over the years, with its record-breaking 50ft drop.

Open to thrill-seekers for a whopping 27 years, the ride ensured that guests not only got thoroughly soaked on the ride but were left laughing all the way round too thanks to the surprises behind every twist and turn.

To honour the memory of Logger’s Leap and in celebration of the park’s 40th birthday this year, Thorpe Park is asking fans of the ride to help them create a memory mosaic; consisting of photos showcasing Logger’s Leap memories from families and friends who have enjoyed the ride over the years. Fans are invited to share their nostalgic pictures from the ride by posting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, tagging Thorpe Park Resort and using #OneLastLeap.

Later on this year, fans of the ride will also have the chance to take a piece of Logger’s Leap memorabilia home through an online auction. Thorpe Park will be revealing which props and elements of the ride are up for grabs in their exclusive auction in May.

Logger's Leap was the tallest log flume in the UK when it opened in 1989, as the centrepiece of the Canada Creek themed area. It was manufactured by Mack Rides and featured both an indoor 'pitch black' drop and the main drop with a double dip.
