Alton Towers Hotel

We stayed in a Moon Voyage Room at the Alton Towers Hotel. This original, eccentric resort hotel, is themed on the adventures of daredevil explorer of Sir Algenon.

The hotel features the Secret Garden Restaurant, Dragons Bar and a large atrium, where live evening entertainment takes place.

Our galactic themed room, inspired by Sir Algenon's travels to the moon, included:

• A separate children’s area with bunk beds and their own TV
• Air conditioning

• Tea & coffee facilities
• Iron and ironing board

The room was very comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. In the morning, an extensive buffet breakfast fuelled us up for a day of adventures.

Alton Towers Waterpark

The 'Summer Splash' event included a 'Behind the Investments' talk with Hotels Director, Mina Fattahi, and Emma Nixon, Assistant Leisure Operations Manager.

From improvements to the changing facilities and upgraded water systems, to refreshed pool areas and a new-look café, Alton Towers have made a significant investment in enhancing the Waterpark for 2024.

Highlights of the Alton Towers Waterpark include the awesome Master Blaster water coaster, Rush 'N' Rampage high-speed water slides and Flash Floods outdoor flumes.

For more relaxed water fun, we recommend Lagoona Bay and the Bubbly Wubbly Pool. Young children will enjoy the Wacky Waterworks and Little Leak areas.

Exclusive Early Ride Time

Early Ride Time enables all resort hotel guests to enter the theme park early and gain access to selected rides for 60 minutes before standard guests.

This summer, Alton Towers has lined up two of its biggest attractions – Nemesis Reborn and The Curse at Alton Manor – subject to availability.

The iconic 30-year-old Nemesis roller coaster at Alton Towers has re-opened this year with a bold new look.

The heart-pounding attraction has undergone the biggest overhaul in its 30-year history and is now known as Nemesis Reborn.

Part of the huge transformation has seen the entire 250-tonne, 716-metre-long, track replaced as well as a complete update of the beast which gives the ride its name.

The Curse at Alton Manor opened last year. This haunting dark ride takes you on a hair-raising journey through the spectacular twists and turns within a cursed Manor.

The abandoned Alton Manor, which had been repossessed under mysterious circumstances, invites you inside. Have your wits about you, uncover the story of Emily Alton, and ride deeper into the historic Manor. She just wants to play.

After your ride, don't miss the 'cursed cones' at the nearby Coach House Confectionary kiosk.

It's important to note that theme park tickets are not included within the 'Summer Short Break Deal' but can be added on at the time of booking, and these will need to be purchased in order to make use of the Exclusive Early Ride Time.

We spent the rest of our time, in the UK's biggest theme park, experiencing our favourite rides and attractions.

Extraordinary Golf

At the end of the day, we completed our visit to Alton Towers with a round of Extraordinary Golf.

This fun themed miniature golf course reimagines 18 of the park's current and past rides as 'crazy golf' holes.

The 'pay to play' attraction is normally priced at £5 for 9-holes, or £7 for 18-holes, but resort hotel guests receive a complimentary 9-hole ticket.

Extraordinary Golf is located next to the Monorail station for the resort hotels and car parks.
